Richard Blackman

Richard is a Derby born actor who trained at Birmingham Royal Conservatoire.

His outdoor touring experience includes Lysander / Flute / Philostrate in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and Victor Frankenstein in the premiere of a musical production of Mary Shelley’s ‘Frankenstein’.

Pantomime and musical roles include Percy the Pest Controller – ‘Dick Whittington’ (Buxton Opera House), the title role in ‘Robin Hood’ (Wizard Theatre), Puppeteer – ‘The Adventures of Doctor Dolittle’ and Mordred – ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’ (both with Illyria).

Theatre In Education productions of ‘Romy and Julian’ (Vienna’s English Theatre), ‘I Love You Mum I Promise I Won’t Die’ and ‘Too Much Punch for Judy’, both by Mark Wheeller.

Other work includes Palamon – ‘The Two Noble Kinsmen’ (Instant Classics Theatre Company), Gratiano / Aragon / Tubal – ‘The Merchant of Venice’ (Ashrow Theatre) and various heartbroken and lovesick romantics in the part verbatim, part improvised musical comedy four-hander, ‘Tell Me About Your Ex 1 and 2’ (Old Joint Stock Theatre).
