Imogen Frances

Imogen (they/them) is a London and Devon based Actor, Director, Intimacy Director, and Writer, passionate about uplifting queer stories & female-centred narratives.

Their directing work includes aggy & tell me straight by Paul Bradshaw at Park Theatre 2026. Their production of tell me straight was Offcom awarded, and won The Standing Ovation Award in 2022.

As an Intimacy Director, they’re part of IDC Professionals’ Accelerator Program. Recent credits including Daphne (Northcott Theatre), Barrier(s) (Deafinitely Theatre), Gwenda’s Garage (Southwark Playhouse), Outlying Islands (Jermyn Street Theatre), Bellringers (Hampstead Theatre).

As a writer, Imogen is currently developing two plays with support from Camden People’s Theatre, Intercom Trust & Exeter Northcott, both of which are centred around gender queerness, grief, pleasure, and the cost of becoming free. In 2025 they were one of 21 writers on Exeter Northcott’s Elevate Writers Scheme and received a writers residency. In 2024, their play Lover. Worker. Mother. was developed at The Young Vic through the Genesis Network and showcased at Northcott’s RECLAIM festival. Their debut play ; (pause before continuing) was long-listed for the RSC’s 37 Plays Award in 2023.

Acting credits include Anna Magdalena in Bach’s Art of Fugue (Barbican 2025) & Lady Capulet/Benvolio in Romeo & Juliet (Exeter Northcott 2025).
