Andrew started his stage career at Frank Dunlop’s Young Vic, where he spent two years, appearing in nine productions. Major Shakespeare roles followed in several seasons at St George’s Theatre.
Work in the West End includes a year at the Adelphi Theatre playing Gerald, a principal role in the musical Me and My Girl, and a season in Toby Robertson’s ensemble company at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, in Antony and Cleopatra and The Taming of the Shrew.
Open air and site-specific work includes seasons at Shaw’s Corner; the Arundel Festival; the Westminster Passion, playing Jesus in Tony Harrison’s Mysteries to a street audience of several thousand; and as one of Robin Belfield’s stage/circus/musician ensemble for Show of Strength’s Walking the Chains at Brunel’s Passenger Shed in Bristol.
International work includes a British Council world tour, playing Doctor Jekyll in the Empty Space production of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde;
King Lear in Hong Kong with the Young Vic; Romeo and Juliet for the Holders Festival in Barbados; and a season in New York in The Hired Man with New Perspectives.
Extensive regional and touring theatre includes Hamlet, The Weir, Grimms Tales, Oleanna and Romeo and Juliet for Patrick Sandford’s Nuffield Theatre, Southampton; several ensemble productions for Kirstie Davis at Forest Forge, and all the male roles in Alan Ayckbourn’s Intimate Exchanges for Kerry Gardner’s Dress Circle Wessex.
Andrew has continued to appear in short films and corporate videos, and has more recently returned to television with a featured role in an episode of the Lake Erie Murders, aired on Discovery Channel.
