Born in London to Iraqi parents in Islington, London, Nowras is an Arabic speaker and writes and performs spoken word poetry. He is known for his performance in the Apple TV+ series ‘Hijack’ (2023), and recently wrapped filming on a BBC drama. In 2022, he toured the UK as Jamal in the award-winning play ‘The Syrian Baker’. Arabic speaking roles include starring as Rafiq, a Syrian refugee and grieving father, in the film ‘Distant Sky’ (2022) - directed by Dan Moss.

Holding a distinction in unarmed combat from BASSC and a former England international in the sport of Karate, Nowras is skilled in stage combat. During his time at LAMDA, Nowras also worked as a fight director for productions of Twelfth Night and The Duchess of Malfi. A strong and melodic bass-baritone, Nowras has a musical affinity for jazz, and is the voice of Marriott Bonvoy’s most recent campaigns in the UK and Middle-East. He has a Masters degree in chemistry from the University of Manchester, and is based in London.
