Michael Auger is best known for his 9 years as a member of Collabro, the world’s most successful Musical Theatre vocal group.
The boys met in 2014 above a pub in London for their first rehearsal and only a month later went on to rouse the whole of the Hammersmith Apollo into a standing ovation during their first ever public performance of “Stars” in front of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams on the Britain’s Got Talent stage. The boys went on to win the overall competition with one of the biggest majorities ever and subsequently signed to Simon Cowell’s label Syco, becoming label-mates with the likes of One Direction, Little Mix, Susan Boyle and Il Divo.
Their debut album Stars, went straight in at number one in the charts and their follow up album Act Two peaked at number two in the summer of 2015.
Following this great success, Collabro's journey continued for another 7 years in which they released a further 5 albums, completed tours of Asia, Europe and America, were 'Special Guests' for Sir Cliff Richard and Barry Manilow's tours in 2017 and 2018 respectively and even managed to produce music from their homes during lockdown.
In 2022, Collabro announced their 2022 Tour would be their Farewell Tour as they all felt it was time to pursue individual projects and end on a high with another major UK tour.
Individually, in 2018, Michael filmed as one of the judges on BBC 1’s 8 part series of 'All Together Now' alongside Spice Girl Geri Haliwell which aired early 2019. He was also part of the Celebrity Christmas Special, commenting on Amber Davies' performance of Titanium.
In October 2019, Michael co-hosted West End Bares at TROXY in London alongside Graham Norton, Michele Visage and Amy Hart, and was asked back for their virtual show at the end of 2020.
In 2020, Michael co-wrote Collabro’s original Christmas song ‘Christmas Is Here’ with A1’s Ben Adams to maximise time during lockdown.
To end 2020, Michael was voted Fittest Famous Male by @fitfamousmales on Twitter, which resulted in Jake Quickenden posting his frustration after placing 5th!!
